Did you know that Germany had a leather goods capital?

Yes, you have read correctly. The small German city Offenbach am Main was once called the leather goods capital not only of Germany but of whole Europe! Since the mid-1800s Offenbach am Main has been the head office to coveted German brands such as Goldpfeil (founded in 1856), Seeger (founded in 1889), Mädler (founded in 1850) and Montblanc (founded in 1906). Seeger was later merged into Montblanc and although Montblanc's headquarters are located in Hamburg, their leather goods factory was located in Offenbach until late 2009 when production was moved to Hamburg and Florence, Italy.
